"This is really where Swat 4 shines as far as I am concerned, there’s a huge level of detail that has been crammed into the levels of this game, and it really comes to life thanks to the placement of the objects. From discarded soda cans to all kinds of trash, boxes and bottles – Swat 4 has a real ‘lived in’ feel to the locations; you can actually believe you’re striding through the darkened corridors of a restaurant with the constant threat of terrorist activity only a door away."

|[PC] Raven Releases New 'Quake 4' Info - posted by Erich Becker at 11:27 am CDT|
Raven Software, developers of such hits as Soldier of Fortune has released some new information on the upcoming shooter, Quake 4:
Quake 4 Updated Info
Earth is under siege by an alien race. The Strogg are cybernetic warriors--a mechanical frame and decaying body parts stabilized by flesh consumed in a systematic annihilation of other species and civilizations. In a desperate attempt to survive a Strogg attack on Earth, an armada of Earth's finest warriors is sent to take the battle to the Strogg home planet. Earth's initial assault force is nearly annihilated immediately, but one marine manages to infiltrate the base, bring down their planetary defense systems, and kill the Strogg's collective brain and leader--the Makron. Earth assumed the destruction of the Makron would end it all, but it didn't.
That's where Quake II leaves off and Quake 4 begins.
The Strogg are quickly regrouping. However, with the Strogg's planetary defenses still destroyed, Earth's forces can deliver a full and final assault. This time, you're not alone. You are Matthew Kane, an elite member of Rhino Squad, and part of Earth's next invasion wave. An army of soldiers are fighting with you and an arsenal of weapons and vehicles are at your disposal in this heroic and epic battle between worlds.
Sounds pretty kick-ass right? We'll have more when its released, until then, thanks goes out to GameSpot for the head's up.

|[Industry] 'Jungle Beat' Beaten Down? - posted by Erich Becker at 11:26 am CDT|
New NPD numbers released for March game sales show a big month for Sony's PlayStation2 and Microsoft's Xbox console as both companies moved units and software (with Gran Turismo 4 taking the pole position).
The real story is Nintendo's Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat which has reportedly only moved a tick under 40,000 units. This information was reported by IGN on Friday, but it proves to be true, it will no doubt be a huge disappointment for The Big N.
