The world record for one of history's most revered classic arcade games has fallen.

Steve Wiebe of Redmond, Washington, has scored 947,200 points on Donkey Kong, leaving in the dust noted rivals like the legendary Billy Mitchell and Timothy Sczerby of Auburn, NY.

"The feat was recorded on videotape so future generations can see how it was done," explains Walter Day, Chief Editor of the forthcoming edition of Twin Galaxies' Official Video Game & Pinball Book of World Records.

Wiebe is not a newcomer to video game royalty: last year he became the first player in Twin Galaxies' 23-year-history to pass the one million-point barrier on Donkey Kong Junior.

"Donkey Kong was one of the top three most hotly contested titles in arcade history, the other two being Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man," says Robert Mruczek, Chief Referee for Twin Galaxies.
Mruczek was the Twin Galaxies employee who viewed Wiebe's 2-hour long videotape in order to verify the legitimacy of the claim to the Donkey Kong title.

Also anyone that has played either of the previous two Silent Hill titles will find some of the locations and buildings very familiar as some of the previous locations are revisited however their are also some new locations to explore such are the underground railway station which gives the game a new twist. LOS ANGELES, CA (Month, XX, 2003) - Vivendi Universal Games announced today the in-game music line up for the upcoming action horror game, Hunter: The Reckoning Wayward for the PlayStation(r)2 computer entertainment system. Hollywood Records recording artist Forty Foot Echo has contributed two songs from its upcoming, self-titled album due out in stores this August. AUSTIN, Texas, June 25, 2003 — Have you ever wished you could leave a permanent mark on your favorite video game world? NCsoft™ and Cryptic Studios™ are offering the public the chance to create of one of the primary NPC (non-player character) heroes in the highly anticipated City of Heroes™ online computer game.

The Surviving Eight Contest launches today on the official City of Heroes website, http://www.coh.com/surviving8_contest.html. In the history of Paragon City, eight heroes survived the ravages of the Rikti War and dedicated themselves to training the next generation of heroes. These surviving eight, play a major role in the story of the city by acting as NPC contacts within the game world. Now fans will get the chance to create one of these eight heroes and describe how they’ll fit within the City of Heroes fiction. The winner’s character will be a permanent fixture in the game.

Contestants will have three weeks to design their characters and submit them to NCsoft for judging. The winner and his/her character will be announced shortly after the contest closes.

City of Heroes will be released in coming months and just finished a successful showing at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo. City of Heroes was awarded the prestigious Game Critics Award, http://www.e3awards.com, for Best Online Multiplayer Game at the expo.
